Pupil Premium Strategy for 2025/26

The Pupil Premium is additional government funding allocated to support pupils who may face barriers to learning, including those eligible for free school meals, those previously eligible, and children in care. Its key purpose is to ensure that disadvantage does not limit a child’s achievement, opportunities, or future aspirations.

At Carmountside, we are committed to using Pupil Premium funding strategically and in line with Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) evidence-based approaches. Our focus is on delivering high-quality teaching for all, alongside targeted academic support and wider strategies that address pupils’ wellbeing, attendance, and readiness to learn.

All areas identified for action through Pupil Premium funding are prioritised within our School Development Plan and Self-Evaluation documentation. These priorities include clearly defined strategies, detailed implementation plans, and measurable expected outcomes to ensure impact. Through regular monitoring and evaluation, we ensure funding is used effectively to close attainment gaps, promote equity, and enable every pupil to thrive and reach their full potential.
