Online Safety

As part of your child’s learning, we use the internet to support teaching and help pupils develop important digital skills. Access to the internet always takes place during supervised lessons, with staff guiding and supporting pupils in how to use technology safely and responsibly.

We know how important it is for children to understand both the benefits and the risks of being online. In school, we use filtering and monitoring systems to help prevent access to inappropriate content, and pupils are taught how to stay safe, make sensible choices and ask for help if something worries them.

Keeping children safe online works best when school and home work closely together. We encourage parents and carers to talk regularly with their children about online safety, being kind and respectful online, and what to do if they see or experience something that makes them feel uncomfortable. By working in partnership, we can help children develop the confidence and skills they need to stay safe online, both in and out of school.
