We believe that learning a language offers our pupils a rich educational, social, and cultural experience. Through studying another language, pupils develop essential communication skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while also gaining an appreciation of cultural diversity and a broader understanding of the world around them. This helps to equip our pupils with the confidence and skills needed to become active global citizens.
At Carmountside, we have chosen Spanish as our modern foreign language because it is widely spoken across the world. It also provides continuity, as it is taught in the secondary schools our pupils move on to at the end of Year 6, ensuring a strong foundation for their future language learning.
