Teaching and Learning Assistant (Early Years)

32.5 hrs per week term time only

Required from 6th January 2025 (or as close to this start date as possible)

Fixed Term until 19th July 2025

Grade: Level 4N pt 4-7

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly skilled and well-motivated Teaching Assistant to join our hardworking and committed team.

We are looking to appoint an Early Years Teaching Assistant who is driven, ambitious and has experience working with young children to join our Early Years team at Carmountside Primary Academy and Pre-school.

The ideal candidate must have a recognised level 3 qualification (or higher) in childcare, provide a safe and stimulating environment which will encourage curiosity awe and wonder and support a child's holistic development within a nurturing environment.

You will be expected:

  • To have fun!
  • To plan for children’s individual needs and record progress and development to ensure that children achieve their full potential.
  • To be responsible for a key group of children and work in partnership with parents and carers.
  • To be a positive role model to the children to ensure they thrive and develop within a nurturing environment.
  • To have a good understanding and knowledge of the EYFS, child development and Ofsted requirements.
  • To provide first hand opportunities, experiences and trips to explore the wider world.
  • To spend time outdoors, exploring the natural world around them including access to our forest school area.
  • To be responsible to our legal requirements to safeguard all children and complete relevant records and reports where necessary.
  • It is also desirable to hold a relevant Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
